Ivan Okun

Mr. Okun is a senior associate with extensive litigation experience who joined Kucker & Bruh, LLP in January 2007. He is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate state courts in New York. His areas of concentration include real estate law, commercial and residential landlord/tenant law, premises liability law, commercial law and general real estate litigation. Mr. Okun has represented clients in civil actions in the New York Supreme Court and Civil Court regarding a multitude of issues concerning commercial and residential real estate, including, for example, disputes regarding non-primary residence, sublet and assignment, succession, and illusory tenancy. He has participated in all aspects of litigation from the taking of, and response to, pretrial discovery, through the prosecution of bench and jury trials, petitions for provisional relief, applications for injunctive relief (including Yellowstone injunctions), procedural and substantive motions, briefing and arguing appeals.

Mr. Okun is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate state courts in New York. He is a graduate of Binghamton University (B.A., 1994), and a graduate of Brooklyn Law School (J.D. 1998).

Career highlights include six years (1998-2004) as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx District Attorney's office. There Mr. Okun prosecuted numerous felony offenders, including individuals charged with murder, attempted murder, robbery and burglary. The litigation skills he acquired while trying cases in that high pressure forum have enabled him to be an extremely effective litigator in prosecuting and defending civil actions subsequent to resigning from public service.
